About the Author
Gregor started his yogic practices in the late 1970’s. In the mid-80’s he commenced yearly travels to India where he learned from various yogic and tantric masters, traditional Indian sadhus and ascetics. He lived many years as a recluse, studying Sanskrit, yogic scripture and practising yogic techniques. Gregor’s textbook series consisting of Ashtanga Yoga: Practice and Philosophy, Ashtanga Yoga: The Intermediate Series, Pranayama: The Breath of Yoga and Yoga Meditation: Through Mantra, Chakras and Kundalini to Spiritual Freedom have sold worldwide over 75,000 copies and so far have been translated into 7 languages. His weekly blog articles can be found at www.chintamaniyoga.com. Today Gregor integrates all aspects of yoga into his teaching in the spirit of Patanjali and T. Krishnamacharya. This is a one of a kind book in my experience. It is written by a person that is alive today that has been to Samadhi and gives a test book on how you can too. He describes his view point on how all the eight limbs contribute to achieving moments or longer of Samadhi. Everything is written from direct experience and supported with references form others that have achieved so called mystical states.
