About the Author
Floral master, teacher, and designer Pim van Den Akker has always been fascinated by nature and over the years he has had many successful publications including: 'Ik rouw om jou' (Funeral Design), Floral Composition and 'Ja, ik wil' (Bridal Design). He has been responsible for the design of many events such as the Home and Garden Fair and Floral Movement and has given demonstrations worldwide. Pim van Den Akker currently works as a guest lecturer. He is unique in the way that he uses new materials and techniques, taking floral art to a new level. He retains an unmatched ability to translate nature into objects that will amaze and inspire everyone.

European design explained really well

Such a great book!!! I have a floral business and I study European designers on a regular basis and am often stumped on how they execute their designs. This book gave me the opportunity to see what Pim does and other floral designers do. Not only is it inspiring, it's insightful, and educational. I try out a new method every day and get so excited by the options it presents! A must for anyone who thinks outside the box and is looking for further their floral education. THANK YOU PIM!!!!
Oh- the book is pretty, easy to understand, paper quality is great, and although big and heavy, something I carry back and forth to work everyday.

Petals Meet Power Tools!

I've been eagerly anticipating the release of this book, waiting to be wowed and amazed--Boy, this book does not disappoint! This is a "must have" for the floral artist. Be prepared for a plethora of creative techniques that will inspire, all laid out for you in a clear and concise manner backed up by photos in a two page spread format.
If you're interested in alternative/natural mechanics (no floral foam) then this book is for you. I especially liked the sections of Piercing and Candle Wax. I'm so glad I picked this up, it was defineately worth the wait.
Thank You, Pim for sharing your discoveries, talent and vision with us in this Fabulous Book! Looking forward to using this manual in the years to come. I'm off to see what I can grind up in my blender...

Techniques explained

Some brilliant ideas, explained very well. Will use for reference and methods to do a new techniques for floral work. Only disadvantage is the weight of the hard cover publication.
